Peyman Heydarian is an Iranian musician who plays the santur and the daff, He has developed a very innovative style of playing, and teaches Persian music and santur professionally at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). He also runs the SOAS Kurdish Band.

This Celebrating Sanctuary podcast offers a taster of the 2009, 10th anniversary edition of the festival that celebrates the art of Refugee Communities in the UK. Celebrating Sanctuary launches Refugee Week with a cornucopia of music, spoken word, dance and food.

The 2010 edition of Celebrating Sanctuary takes place Sunday, 13 June 2010, 2 - 7pm, Bernie Spain Gardens, Upper Ground, South Bank, London SE1 (next to Oxo Tower Wharf ), train/tube: Blackfriars, Southwark, Waterloo, ADMISSION FREE.
